Casa de Alfeñique (Gingerbread House)

This 18th century house is one of the most interesting in the city. It owes its name to the abundant and fine ornamentation made from white mortar, which looks like the famous sweets made in Puebla, which are called alfeñiques. It has housed the State Museum since 1926 and among its exhibits are indigenous codicils painted in the 16th century, Spanish armor, maps, photographs, works of art, carriages and a collection of antique dresses.
