The majestic city of Puebla was raised by the work and art of the indigenous people of the region and the Spanish entrepreneurs. Agriculture and ranching proliferated. In architecture, the construction of churches, schools, hospitals and houses in which cultural syncretism left one of its most important legacies, proliferated. The Historic Center of the City of Puebla was declared “Cultural Heritage of Humanity” by the UNESCO in 1987. Also, important industries flourished among which textiles stand out. We cannot forget that Pueblan cuisine, known world wide, also comes from this union between European and indigenous cultures and has given the world dishes of international fame such as mole poblano, chiles en nogada and the traditional sweets among many others. Little by little Puebla achieved a great development thanks to the efforts of it’s men and women, workers and business people, governors, artists, scholars, researchers… between them all they have been able to make Puebla a Civil, Religious and cultural heritage of all humankind.
